WHAT IS PSYCHOLOGICALLY SAFE SERVICE?

THE REDUCTION OF HARM

Psychological Safety focuses on reducing the risk of mental harm or injury within an organization or relationship.

THE PROMOTION OF
WELL-BEING

The most influential way to reduce harm is to focus on raising levels of well-being.

The higher the degree of mental wellness, the greater the capacity for growth in all areas.

CREATING STRONG CONNECTION

When relationships feel safe, creativity and productivity soar.

People thrive when they experience meaningful connections.

WHY PSYCHOLOGICALLY
SAFE SERVICE?

WHY PSYCHOLOGICALLYSAFE SERVICE?

Leaders and service providers face unique challenges in today's highly stressful environment. Their demands require a distinct set of skills that are unfortunately not commonly taught in traditional educational settings. Skills such as effectively handling difficult conversations, setting boundaries, and safeguarding their mental and emotional well-being are essential for success.

Consider the plight of service providers who tirelessly cater to the needs of their clients and families daily. Their time and energy are constantly in demand, particularly when working one-on-one. Without the necessary systems and support, these professionals, including beauty experts and massage therapists, are at a significantly higher risk of experiencing compassion fatigue and burnout.

That's where PSYCHOLOGICALLY SAFE SERVICE comes in. This innovative program has been specifically designed to empower salon teams and service-focused businesses. By implementing this program, organizations can expect to see a dramatic reduction in turnover rates and an increase in productivity and creativity. Furthermore, it helps strengthen relationships within the team and with clients, enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty.

By investing in psychological SAFE SERVICE, leaders and service providers can equip themselves with the necessary skills and support to thrive in today's demanding environment. Take advantage of the opportunity to transform your business and create a healthier, more prosperous future.

HOW DID IT BEGIN?

In 2020, during the global shutdown, Stephanie Russell-Jacobs began to work more in-depth with salon leaders and beauty professionals to help them develop the soft skills required to navigate the changing energetic environment that an increase in fear brings. She also recognized the difficulty salons had keeping service providers as they either needed a change in career or environment due to compassion fatigue and burnout.

During her research, Stephanie came across the concept of psychological safety, the belief that one can speak up without the risk of punishment or humiliation. She dove deeper into the subject when she realized that nearly all of the top 300 companies in North America site "psychological safety" as their number one positive attribute to success, including Google and thought, "why is this not in small business?"

After completing the Canadian Mental Health Association's Psychologically Safe Champion Course and, later, the University of New Brunswick's Psychologically Safe Leadership Program, she recognized its value within small, service-focused businesses.

Its two primary values, reducing mental harm and promoting well-being, were precisely needed after the sudden lifestyle shift from the pandemic. But unfortunately, mental wellness has taken a decline globally, and it is significantly affecting those individuals who work with the public. By sharing the values of Psychological Safety (and her expertise in mindfulness, acceptance commitment therapy, reiki and neuro-linguistic programming), Stephanie is helping small business owners to become safer leaders to meet the needs of their team members and allowing service providers to engage with their clients in a new and elevated way, all while caring for their well-being.

The benefits of psychological Safety are:

27% reduction in turnover

50% more productivity

76% more engagement

29% more life satisfaction

26% greater skills preparedness

67% faster rate of learning

And the World Health Organization states that for every $1 an organization spends on psychological safety, they receive $4 in return.
